Melita Thomas has a doctorate in Early Modern Studies from University College London.

Her thesis focused on the social and political networks of Mary I. She has contributed to several academic edited collections and has presented at academic conferences. She has also authored 1000 Tudor People and Tudor People: Rogues, Rebels, Villains and Victims all published by Graffeg in the same series.
