Debut book by Rachel Keating about OCD and caring for nature

Did you know that small animals, such as birds, perceive time differently to us? Erin does after she falls from a tree and finds herself with incredible avian abilities. Not ideal, she thinks, as she tries to cope with involuntary flight alongside her own OCD and her mother’s mental health problems. But being able to slow down time and communicate with her new-found friend - a goldfinch called Fable - prove vital when she stumbles on a plot to trap birds in the woods. Author Rachel Keating is a member of SCBWI and has attended many writing courses including Lucy Strange’s ‘Writing Middle Grade’ workshop in Bath and a six-week MG course with Lindsay Galvin. Rachel is currently a stay-at-home parent living in Northampton. This is her first published book and draws on her own experiences with OCD.

Author Ian Brown is a London-based writer and producer for television and former journalist. His TV credits include The South Bank Show, This Is Your Life, Top Gear, entertainment shows and documentaries. He has written or produced for the likes of Pierce Brosnan, Harrison Ford, Simon Cowell, George Lucas, Liam Neeson, Martin Scorsese, Jamie Oliver and Homer Simpson among many others. Ian is also the author of the Albert the Tortoise books, his first picture book series.

Zane and Finola are now in another country at a traditional country fête, but Finola catches sight of a familiar face and the twins have to escape. But if they go now, they won’t get to join in the treasure hunt, which they are now convinced will lead them to Dad.

Author Julia Hubery was born in Stamford and trained as an architect. She loves the countryside and nature, finding it a pool of inspiration to draw on in her writing. Julia now lives in Gosport with her husband and three children. She has published 16 picture books, translated into many languages, including When Granny Saved Christmas, A Little Fairly Magic and That’s What Friends are For - all with Little Tiger Press.
