Archival photograph taken from Lost Tramways of Wales: Cardiff.

Caption reads: ‘With the castle in the background, No 33 turns from Duke Street into High Street en route to the St Mary Street terminus of route 1B from Whitchurch Road on 8 April 1949.
The section from here eastwards would be abandoned a couple of months later once works started on the Queen Street railway bridge.’

This range of prints derived from the Lost Tramways of Wales book series captures a range of fascinating historical street scenes from around Wales. Each provides a glimpse into the character and social history of these towns and cities during the early 20th century and the landmarks and familiar streets which have been transformed or maintained over the decades.

Captions by series author Peter Waller accompany each image, documenting the period, location and vehicles featured.

A beautifully presented item for all enthusiasts of Welsh history and heritage and an ideal gift.
